Mt. Bulusan or Volcano Bulusan Located: Sorsogon Province, 70 km southeast of Mayon Volcano and approximately 250km SE of Manila (12°46.2′N, 124°03′E)

Phivolcs raises alert of Bulusan volcano State volcanologists raised the alert level 1 to 2 at the volatile Bulusan volcano effective this July 30, warning about the possibility of an explosive eruption.Over the past three days, 673 earthquakes have been recorded in the area of the volcano, up from 223 tremors during the previous three-day period, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) Director Renato Solidum Jr. said.

Experts have warned that a major eruption could threaten the lives of at least 20,000 people in a “worst-case scenario.”

Bulusan is one of the most active of the 22 volcanoes that have erupted within recorded history in the Philippines. It has erupted 15 times, most recently in November 1994.

This theme by Philip Tiangson is one for the girls; it’s the new butterfly theme. With the focus on butterflies which appear in the header over a sky blue background, giving the effect of them in the sky. This theme has a pink background which sets the content area off as the white stands out so well. Again with all his themes it’s xhtml and css valid so you don’t have to worry about the search engine optimization side of things once you are using this theme.

One of the best features of this theme in my opinion is the pictures used for the date of each post. It’s a simple pink square box with a darker pink butterfly on top with the date in white which keeps the theme going on the butterfly subject.

It uses a 2 column layout with the navigation being on the left hand side and the content on the right.

ALASKA BACK ON TOP AFTER 7-YEAR ALASKA TEAM

Willie Miller The Session Cup MVP Player, (born on July 13, 1977 in Olongapo City, Philippines) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Alaska Aces in the Philippine Basketball Association.

After an amateur career with the Letran Knights in the NCAA and a short stint with Tanduay in the Philippine Basketball League, Miller joined the Metropolitan Basketball Association for the Nueva Ecija Patriots from 1999-2000. During his tenure in the Metropolitan Basketball Association Miller made it to the MBA First Five in 1999.

He joined the PBA in 2001 and was the top overall pick of the Batang Red Bull Thunder in the draft. In 2002, he was named as the PBA’s Most Valuable Player. He later joined the Talk N’ Text Phone Pals from 2004-2006 before being traded to Alaska, and again being named Most Valuable Player in the 2006-07 season.

At last the Alaska Team in session 2007 PBA champ. The game Alaska vs. Talk’n Text in Session 2007 PBA Games. The Game was so close.. The Alaska Aces proved that again by foiling the Talk N Text Phone Pals’ offense in four of their five final possessions to post a scrambling 99-96 decision and win the 2007 Philippine Basketball Association Fiesta Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome.

The seventh and final championship game was close from start to finish with 12 deadlocks and 12 lead changes.

“What makes winning so special is when you worked so hard to win,” said Alaska coach Tim Cone. “Pure competition is when your opponent pushes you to the limit. As tremendous as it is to win, it is just as devastating to lose. Congratulations also to the Talk N Text. What a team they are. They pushed us to the limit. ”

Willie Miller penetrated down the middle of the court then sank a looping layup to push Alaska on top 96-94 with 1:17 to go in the game.

Macmac Cardona tried to equalize. He charged past Miller but the PBA MVP slapped the ball from Cardona’s hand creating another turnover for Alaska.

At the Alaska offensive end Rosell Ellis scored on his own hook shot to push Alaska even farther ahead, 98-94, with 44 seconds to go.

Sullinger tried to make things happen in Talk N Text’s next possession. He spun into the lane but landed smack into the teeth of an Alaska triple team. Sullinger tried to get off a shot but his jumper was blocked by Ellis.

Miller was fouled in Alaska’s next possession but he muffed two charities with time down to 28 seconds.

Talk ‘N Text closed in at 96-98 on a short stab by Jay-jay Washington.

After Alaska’s unproductive offense, Cardona, kicked out to an open Belano for a possible game-winning three-pointer. Belano missed the target and Hugnatan, who ripped down the rebound, was quickly fouled.

With a second to go Hugnatan missed the first free throw but inexplicably converted the second shot instead of missing it to allow the time to expire.

Hugnatan’s free throw hiked the Alaska lead to three points, 99-96, but allowed N Text to call a timeout with one second to go in the game.

The whole west side of the square Cuneta Astrodome was a sea of yellow-shirted Talk N Text fans. The other half of the Astrodome was filled with the red-shirted crowd of Alaska fans.

During the break the Talk N Text fans stood up and started chanting “Talk N Text, Talk N Text,” to pump up their players. Almost immediately the Alaska fans responded with their own chant of “Go Alaska, Go Alaska.”

Talk N Text threw in to JJ Sullinger who had a chance to send the game into overtime but his three-pointer hit the backend of the inner rim and bounced out just as the buzzer sounded.

Sullinger fell backward and sat on the floor near the midcourt stunned as the Alaska players and fans erupted into delirious celebration.

Subic Bay
Subic, the former US naval base in the Philippines, is now a hub for commerce and tourism. Just two-and-a-half hour drive north from Manila, Subic offers a full view of the blue mountain and sea and of the green background of a three-layered virgin forest.

Siargao Island

This newly discovered island boasts of white-sand beaches and surfing waves compared to that of Hawaii. Lying 800 kilometers southeast of Manila, the tear-shaped Siargao Island is a perfect haven for the sun, sea, and surf buffs. It lies on the eastern portion of Surigao del Norte and on the southeastern tip of Mindanao. The island is a mass of tropical land with scores of reefs, points and white beaches.

Paradise theme is an impressive one. This is the dark version and I must say it’s once of the most eye catching themes I have seen. The sharp trees and doves gives it a strong sense of peace and makes the black stand out on top.
