Alaminos City Abattoir | National Winner in Search for Best LGU-Operated Slaughterhouse

Congratulations to Alaminos City Abattoir (ACA) for being the National Winner (again :-)) in the Search of Best-LGU Operated Slaughterhouse. The award was given by the Department of Agrculture’s National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS).

The award was given last October during the celebration of the National Meat Consciousness Week and NMIS’ 36th Anniversary held recently at the Bureau of Soils and Water Management in Quezon City.

Also known as Don Leopoldo Alcedo Slaughterhouse, ACA bested other finalists such as Balanga, Bataan, Digos City and Davao City! (Whoohooo!)

Alaminos City Abattoir won because they have strictly complied with all requirements and standards set by NMIS such as providing facilities and continuous training of all personnel initiated by Mayor Hernani Braganza himself.

Indeed, thanks to our hardworking city veterinarian and other city abattoir, Alaminians are provided with affordable, clean and safe meat!

By the way, just to mention, I remembered one incident two years ago, while I was on my way to office in Alaminos, early in the morning, a mini truck driver threatened with big knife (I think it was a bolo) the driver of the tricycle I was riding with because of traffic dispute. I got really scared then, I thought something might really happen, then later I found out the man who threatened us was working in the slaughterhouse. Well, I just mention this to warn people not to get in the way of men with knives. (as if that makes sense) and hopefully that man wouldn’t repeat what he had done to others. ;-)
