Survivor Philippines | Why in Thailand?
I can say that I am more of a Kapamilya than a Kapuso, :-) Survivor Philippines, Bubble Gang, Dragon Ball-z, Kay Susan Tayo and Jessica Soho are the only shows I am watching at GMA-7 when given the opportunity to watch.
I like Kay Susan Tayo and Jessica Soho because they are truly informative shows – pinoy style. Bubble Gang is already an “institution” an old time habit “you’re such a looser yaya!”, if you are not watching it… :-)
Dragon Ball-Z and Survivor – well, I just watch them, regardless of which channel it is being aired in the Philippines.
So much for that explanation, going back to my title… upon reading comments from other blogs, I was just surprised to read that some people are bickering because of Survivor Philippines. They cannot understand why survivor Philippines was done in Thailand. And even the solid Kapuso seems unaware why indeed! lol
As far as I know, base on previous Survivor versions of other countries, it became a tradition to shoot Survivor in an isolated island away from the comfort zone of the castaways, that is why it is usually filmed in other countries.
Do you know that there are already Survivor episodes filmed in the Philippines?

I think there was also one episode filmed somewhere in Southern Luzon. Anyway, that was just to explain why the Survivor Philippines is in Thailand… :-)
